Thinking of a church wedding?

Congratulations!

You're welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are christened and whether or not you regularly go to church. And, due to recent changes in the law, marrying in church has never been easier.

Can we get married in All Saints?

The rules have recently been relaxed so that anyone with some family connection should be able to marry in what they feel is their 'family' church.

You can marry here in All Saints if you can show:-

that one of you:
- has at any time lived in our parish for a period of at least 6 months or
- was baptised in our parish or
- was prepared for confirmation in our parish or
- has at any time regularly gone to normal church services in our church for a period of at least 6 months

or

that one of your parents, at any time after you were born:
- has lived in our parish for a period of at least 6 months or
- has regularly gone to normal church services in our church for a period of at least 6 months

or

that one of your parents or grandparents was married in our parish.

In all cases involving church services - i.e. going to normal church services, baptism, confirmation or marriage - the services must have been held by the Church of England. Even if you cannot demonstrate any of the above connections, we want to help you explore whether it may still be possible for you to marry here.

Please talk to Jo well in advance to discuss the options open to you
